How does it work?

Before we learn some tips for using an air fryer, it is important we learn how it operates. This device works using rapid air technology which involves circulation of hot air in the cooking compartment. Hot air is the one that heats food in an air fryer. The hot air is blown around the food and makes sure that the food is evenly cooked. The device comes with a digital interface where you set temperatures and time required for food to get ready. You can adjust any time you see the need to achieve a uniform finish.

The following are some tips for using an air fryer;

Give food enough space

Air fryers come in different sizes. Generally, the sizes are small meaning if you are cooking food for a large group you will cook in batches. When you are placing food in the basket, makes sure that they are well placed, and there is space between pieces in case of steak and chicken. This ensures that the circulating hot air can get around the food. This leads to food that is evenly cooked.

You can use aluminum foil

Depending on the air fryer brand, you can use aluminum foil during the baking process. When preparing cakes using the air fryer, it is advisable to use the foil and when the cake is almost getting ready you can remove the foil. You can also use the foil at the base of the cooking compartments if the fryer doesn’t have a mesh to prevent dirt and oil from getting into contact with the basket base. This makes sure that cleaning is easy.

    Why shouldn’t you line the drip pan with aluminum foil? I use it to avoid any grease to burn in the drip pan, and it makes cleaning the pan so much easier.

      Yes, you can use foil on a stainless steel tray. All you need to do is place a piece of aluminum foil over the top and press down so it adheres to the surface. You can then bake or roast your food as usual.
